Have you ever realized it is not always the “smartest” or most “technical” person that
gets that big promotion? In many cases, it is the person who can get along with
others, who can lead by example and build effective teams. The professional
terminology for what we call “playing well in the sandbox” can best be described as a
high “EQ”. Explore the components that comprise Emotional Intelligence and examine
techniques for improving yours. Acquire the tools to build the relationship skills of the
groups you lead and identify what types of norms leaders must support to build their
team’s EI.
